NORTHEAST OHIO SALONS COME TOGETHER TO RAISE MONEY FOR PROGRAMS WORKING TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

 

Northeast Ohio - September 20, 2007 - The reality of domestic violence can be devastating. With women as the primary victim, domestic violence affects a family's primary caregiver, a community's needed volunteer and a world's most important resource. 

 

So when Dino Palmieri and John DiJulius, both proprietors of their own salons and spas, decided to use their talents and work together to give back to the Northeast Ohio community, they thought what better way than the format of a reality makeover show that raised money for a beneficiary working to end violence against women and girls. 

 

On Friday, November 2, 2007, Palmieri and DiJulius will go "head to head" for a fundraising competition. Between the two salons over 60 models will present an artistic progression of style from contemporary to avant-garde to classic glam. While the friendly competition will be fun, the real winners will be two women selected from the Cleveland Domestic Violence Center and the Battered Women's Shelter of Summit and Medina Counties. Each will receive a full makeover, representing the new life they are struggling to create; a life without domestic violence.

 

Proceeds from the event will benefit V-Day: Until the Violence Stops: Northeast Ohio (UTVS:NEO). UTVS:NEO is part of Women Central Project of Women's Network, Inc.  Women Central is working to develop a strategic plan to raise awareness and address the safety and violence issues in women's lives in our community.

 

Tickets are presale $20 and $45 VIP (includes drink tickets and stage side seating), $35 at the door.
